The decisions made in our state budget have a direct impact on the resources available to support children, youth, and families across our communities. House Bill 33 (HB 33), which outlines the 2024–2025 state budget, plays a critical role in determining how much support is provided for programs that help young people succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
For many children, especially those facing emotional, behavioral, or social challenges—these services are not optional; they are essential to their development, stability, and long-term success.
So, we need your help! We need your voice to encourage the Ohio General Assembly’s support of children’s mental health services as part of the current biennial state budget process.
Advocating for youth-focused funding means investing in prevention, early intervention, and supportive services that help children build resilience and thrive. Programs that strengthen families, provide mental health support, and create safe environments for young people make a lasting difference not only for individual children but for entire communities.
Because the reality is our state’s mental health sector is facing the worst supply and demand dynamics in modern history. Investing in children’s mental health is an investment in our state’s future.
By raising awareness and supporting efforts to prioritize youth in the state budget, we can help ensure that the systems meant to serve them have the resources they need to do so effectively.
These resources can help you make sure your voice is heard.
